A chair pulled back takes 750mm. Walking behind it takes another 300. That is the number that decides table size.
Let them scan it and hold their own phone up

Clearances are practical working figures rather than regulation. 750mm is enough to push a dining chair back and stand up; add 300mm to walk behind a seated person. Timber dimensions are nominal and hand made pieces vary slightly. Solid timber requires a stable indoor environment and will move with humidity.
