Customers picture something enormous. Put a 5kW stove on their hearth at real size and the room suddenly has space for it.

Once it appears: one finger drags it, two fingers turn it. It does not need a clear floor. Drop it where it fits and judge the size against what is already there.
What size, and how much room round it?
Oversizing a stove is the commonest mistake. You end up running it shut down, which tars the flue.
Let them scan it and hold their own phone up

Heat output sizing shown is the common rule of thumb and is no substitute for a room heat loss calculation. Hearth sizes, clearances to combustibles and ventilation requirements follow Building Regulations Approved Document J. Installation must be carried out by a HETAS registered installer or signed off by building control. Flue and chimney condition must be checked before any install.
