Hold the new sign up against the real shopfront
No mock up, no artist's impression. The tray sign at full size, on the actual fascia, from across the street.
Choose a size
Drag to turn it round
Opens your camera. Stand back and point at the fascia.
Once it appears: one finger drags it, two fingers turn it. It does not need a clear floor. Drop it where it fits and judge the size against what is already there.
Will it fit the fascia, and do you need consent?
Most shop signs are permitted. Illumination and conservation areas are where it changes.
Let them scan it and hold their own phone up
The camera view only works on a phone. Point the code at their camera, and this page opens on their handset. That is the moment the idea sells itself.
Advertisement control in England is governed by the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007. Many shop signs benefit from deemed consent, but illumination, projecting signs over a certain area, conservation areas, listed buildings and Article 4 directions all change this. Check with the local planning authority before manufacture.
